David Pocock to retire from Australia after Rugby World Cup

David Pocock will retire from Test rugby after the World Cup in Japan, ending an 11-year career.

Pocock will captain Australia against Samoa in Sydney in which would be his evaluation in Australia and his 78th overall.
“I really feel as if it is time to move onto anything else and contribute in different locations,” Pocock said on Friday at the team captain’s run.
The 31-year-old flanker declared his retirement from the Brumbies of Super Rugby and is expected to play with baseball in Japan next year.
“On an individual note you reflect on the time you’ve had at a Wallabies jersey, what you’ve tried to include, the heritage you hope you’ll leave and just the opportunity to play in the front of family and friends one last time,” Pocock added.
Saturday’s match will probably be Pocock game of Test as last November and rugby this season after maintaining calf injuries.
He will return as one of Australia and made his debut against New Zealand in Hong Kong in 2008.
The Zimbabwean-born Pocock transferred with his family to Australia when he was 14.
Since reaching a profile for his skills, he’s taken on social causes, arguing to end homophobia in sport, and to embrace same-sex marriage, which has.

Pocock said he along with Emma Palandri, his longtime partner, would not wed until marriage was lawful in Australia.

“At the time in 2010 we had a small ceremony with family and friends, but we did not need to sign anything our friends could not,” Pocock said in a magazine interview at 2018.
“It’s sort of just been a personal stand… now the [same-sex marriage debate] is done, it is a good thing. I think everybody should be thankful to the activists. I truly do believe that it makes our society better going ahead.”
Though some expert sports stars’ Twitter feeds speak about their sport, the sociable media of Pocock is full of references into farming, wind turbines, climate change and nature photographs.
“The ground is changing. We have to change with it. We need to work together to design alternatives for the planet we call home,” Pocock said in an tweet from June.
