The wait is almost over and the new NFL season is almost upon us!
The league year begins on Thursday, September 5 if the Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers, live on Sky Sports.
Until then, it’s time to check the contenders of 2019.
We are previewing all eight branches, and here it is possible to find our views on the AFC North and cast your vote on who you believe will triumph below…
Head coach: Mike Tomlin
Key man: Since he was nominated in 2004, Ben Roethlisberger has been the heart and soul of this franchise. Despite getting on in age and pitching the many interceptions in the NFL last season (16), the 37-year-old remains among the greatest quarterbacks in the group.
Roethlisberger has dropped his goal for the past six seasons – Antonio Brown – but JuJu Smith-Schuster’s emergence can help him hugely. Their venture could grow into one of the most hazardous in the league.
Important additions: The marquee moves this offseason in Pittsburgh have been departures. After sitting out the 2018 season while Le’Veon Bell declared to the New York Jets Best wideout Brown was traded to Oakland.
This season the Steelers drafted well. Linebacker Devin Bush who is immediately among the favourites to win Defensive Rookie of the Year was picked by them. On offense, running back Benny Snell and fast wide receiver Diontae Johnson will lead.
Season: They missed the playoffs since 2013 for the first time .
The Steelers won seven of their first 10 matches to get to 7-2-1, after they lost four of the next five, however, playoff hopes were dashed. When Baltimore won, eliminating the Steelers from 16, their fate was sealed in Week 17.
Prospects: Roethlisberger and Smith-Schuster could take their connection to a whole new level this year, although the offensive line is just one of the best in the league and enables James Conner to flourish in the passing and running game.
Defensively, the Steelers are solid and seem to have improved this offseason with the purchase of Bush. They’ll be hoping for a return to the postseason.
Prediction: 1st (11-5)
Head coach: John Harbaugh
Key man: when Lamar Jackson began, The Ravens went year. But the 22-year-old must improve from the passing game if he wishes to come back to the postseason as groups understand exactly what to expect when coming up from him. He just threw for six touchdowns and 1,201 yards last season, yet hurried for five touchdowns and 695 yards.
If Jackson can come across the perfect blend between both types of attack, this offense can be deadly. With the number of hits he takes as a rusher, Jackson has to learn how to guard himself.
Additions: Running Mark Ingram was introduced in on a three-year and is essentially a bigger and better version of Alex Collins. Keep an eye on fourth-round runner Justice Hill behind him, who impressed in preseason. On protection, six-time Pro Bowler Earl Thomas was the significant improvement when he signed up up a contract in free service.
The Ravens lacked wide receiver production last year but that doesn’t seem like the case … Rookies Marquise Brown and Miles Boykin will both provide a much-needed speed outside.
Season: The benching of starting quarterback Joe Flacco after a Week Six loss ended up being a boon. They went from an abysmal record that was 4-5 to ending the season 10-6 and which makes the playoffs thanks to Jackson taking the league.
Their playoff experience did not last long since they were defeated at the Wild Card round by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Prospects: they are certainly on the cusp Even though the Ravens are not among the AFC powerhouses. If Jackson can create more through the air, then they have a genuine chance of winning the division again. The QB will be only improved by the developments of weapons.
The defense will be powerful with and again the addition of hard-hitting Thomas , the secondary should return to their turnover potential if they led the league.
Prediction: 2nd (9-7)
Head trainer: Freddie Kitchens
Key man: Baker Mayfield is one of the very quarterbacks in the NFL, Despite being pipped last season by Saquon Barkley. The 24-year-old broke the record for most touchdown passes thrown by a newcomer (27).
His crime is stacked – including Odell Beckham Jr,” Jarvis Landry and Nick Chubb – so if he’s unable to improve on his stats as a newcomer, a great deal of questions will likely be requested.
Big additions the Browns acquired Beckham Jr at a trade with the New York Giants. Olivier Vernon also produced the same trip in a separate thing.
2017 Pro Bowl was added to the roster following his release. On the other hand, the 24-year-old is suspended for the first eight games of the season because of violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
Year: In the two previous seasons, the Browns had an abysmal 1-31 record. By Week Five of last year, they won two matches. However, a series of four losses in a row saw Hue Jackson fired and Gregg Williams set for the remainder of the season in charge.
Williams came close to guiding the Browns to their first .500 season since 2007, but they fell at 7-8-1.
Prospects: There has been a great deal of hype around the Browns because of the amount of names they’ve brought on crime, but time may be taken by the team to gel.
The attack is full of stars and the signing of Hunt could help hugely down the stretch if he falls from suspension. Denzel Ward and myles Garrett are defensive studs, but work is needed by the remainder of the unit.
In a tough division, co workers and Mayfield need to hit the floor running to reach the playoffs for the first time in 17 decades.
Prediction: 3rd (9-7)
Head coach: Zac Taylor
Key man: Despite most teams relying upon their quarterback, the Bengals rely upon their back. Joe Mixon is one of the few sparks with this team.
Despite leading the AFC but has been not called to the Pro Bowl, the 23-year-old’d eight touchdowns and 1,464 all-purpose yards last year.
Mixon is in line for another active season as the Bengals are lacking caliber in receiver, especially because of A.J. Green’s injury. This team could be the worst in the NFL.
Big improvements: The Bengals decided not to bolster their ranks during free service with celebrities. Guard John Miller would be the notable veteran inclusion.
The 2019 NFL Draft was not much better since Cincy’s first-round pick Jonah Williams was ruled out for the period. But they might have drafted their quarterback in Ryan Finley. He has appeared sharp but won’t be dethroning Andy Dalton any moment soon.
Last year: The Bengals got off to a hot start, winning four of their first five games. During the remaining part of the season, they mustered two victories , leaving them having an abysmal 6-10 record.
Injuries played a role in their downfall, as during the entire year, 26 players have been placed on Injured Reserve – including wide receiver .
Prospects: Using new head coach and a depleted roster, the Bengals are expected to struggle. They have an ageing quarterback who hasn’t led them to the playoffs since 2015 plus they maybe not much depth on crime, therefore Mixon is going to be the choice.
The defense has been shrouded with injuries and is not much better, both. It may be another awful season for the Bengals.
Prediction: 4th (4-12)
