Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham says his mother was ‘in tears’ after he received racist abuse

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham says that his mom was left in tears after he obtained racist abuse on the web.
After missing the crucial penalty in the UEFA Super Cup defeat to 22, the 21-year-old was targeted at social websites.
Abraham issued a rebellious response after the match, vowing to”silence the haters”, but also has admitted his mum was influenced by the misuse.
“I remember speaking to my mom, she was psychological, she had been in tears,” Abraham told CNN.
“You know, she is only thinking:’Why him? He?’ It is definitely not great to listen to seeing your son becoming abused.
“For me personally, I’m always a solid personality, it will not impact me much.
“But saying that, it may affect people who do not have my character. It was a moment for me, I went through a great deal of feelings.
“Everyone misses penalties but to miss a punishment I was obviously devastated.”
Anti-racism organisation Kick Out called for action to be taken against those responsible, while Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard described the abuse as”disgusting”.
Abraham has gone on to score four days in also the England and the Premier League worldwide praised.
“Straight after, the boys, director and everyone at Chelsea had my spine,” he explained.
“The following day, [Lampard] called me to find out how I was.
“He didn’t wish to go over the situation since he knew how I had been feeling, but just wanted to find out the way I was, be sure I wasn’t distracted from football and my personal life was right.
“It is wonderful to get this support behind you once you’re going through times such as this.”
